Ottumwa -- OTTUMWA --- Indian Hills Community College golf coach Mike Hagen and two of his golfers have picked up some awards in the wake of the Warriors’ second consecutive national championship.
Hagen was named the NJCAA Coach of the Year and was also selected as the Dave Williams Coach of the Year, an award sponsored by Eaton and Golf Pride. It’s the second year in a row the IHCC coach has garnered both accolades.
Sophomore Jon Paul Blampied, by virtue of his second-place finish in the national tourney, was named a NJCAA 1st-team All-American and a member of the NJCAA All-Tournament 1st team.
Freshman Ben Ludlam was a second-team selection for both of the NJCAA’s honor squads after a 6th-place finish at the national meet. Ludlam also took home the Phil Mickelson Award, given to the top freshman in the nation.
