Huntsville, Ala. -- For the second year in a row, the Indian Hills golf team came home from the NJCAA Division I Preview meet with a seventh-place finish. The Warriors were third after the opening 18 holes, but slipped a little on Tuesday.
McLennan (TX) won the meet by seven strokes over runnerup Central Alabama. McLennan had been tied for first at the midway point with Brevard (FL). Brevard wound up 4th.
IHCC's Justin Weber was in position for a high finish after firing a three-under par 69 in the opening round, one shot off the lead. But Weber had a 77 over the final 18 holes and ended in a tie for 15th place. He was tied with teammate Zach Monson who followed Monday's even-par 72 with a 74.
The meet was played on the same Robert Trent Jones course where the Division I national championship will be contested next May. The Warriors were 4th at last spring's national tourney after their seventh-place finish at the Preview a year ago.
