Warriors Get 2nd Straight 2nd-Place Finish

Meridian, MS -- South Mountain CC made up a three-stroke deficit over the final 18 holes and grabbed the team title away from Indian Hills in the Lou Hart Invitational.

Indian Hills sprinted to a six-shot lead after the opening round, thanks in large part to a 2-under par 69 by Kurt Slattery. The IHCC score of 291 over the first 18 holes was the best round of the tourney.

South Mountain cut into the IHCC lead with a three-shot edge over the middle round and then finished with a round of 294 to notch the victory. Indian Hills closed with a 303 for a total of 895. South Mountain won the eight-team event with a score of 889. Darton CC was third, three shots behind the Warriors.

Justin Weber led the IHCC scoring with a total of 223 that left the IHCC sophomore alone in 8th place. He had rounds of 74, 74 and 75 on the par-71 Northwood CC course.

Zach Primavera of Central Alabama was the meet medalist with a three-under par 210. His first-round 69 tied IHCC's Slattery for the best round of the tournament.

Cameron Munro had the second-best score for Indian Hills -- a 224 -- one stroke ahead of teammate Dan Dawson. Slattery and Matt Solis tied at 226 as the Warriors had five golfers in the first 15 places, two more than any other school in the field.

Indian Hills returns to action April 9-10 at the Big Blue Spring Classic in Decatur, Illinois.
