Weber Leads Warriors to Easy Win

Ottumwa -- Playing their only home tournament of the spring, the Indian Hills golf team rolled to an easy victory in the Community 1st Credit Union Spring Invitational at the Ottumwa Country Club.

Justin Weber shot a sizzling 6-under par total of 210 to lead the Warriors to the first-place finish, a whopping 54 strokes ahead of second-place Iowa Western. Parkland CC rounded out the field and was another 15 shots behind Iowa Western.

Indian Hills' winning score of 851 was 13 shots under par on the par-72 course.

Weber opened the tourney with a five-under par round of 67 on Monday and followed with a three-under 69. A two-over par 74 Tuesday couldn't keep the IHCC sophomore from posting a two-shot win over teammate Kurt Slattery.

Indian Hills claimed the top four places on the leaderboard with Dan Dawson and Cameron Munro finishing behind Slattery.

Slattery's total included a 69 in the first round and Dawson had rounds of 72, 70 and 71.

Indian Hills is back in action next week at the NJCAA District III Championship in Gothenburg, Nebraska. That will be their final meet before the National Championship next month in Huntsville, Alabama.
