Warriors Fail to Hold Lead, Finish 2nd in Illinois

Marion, Ill. -- Indian Hills was unable to hold onto an eight-stroke lead they had after the opening round and saw tournament host John A. Logan come back and defeat IHCC by three shots at the Kokopelli Golf Course on Monday.

"When you have an eight-stroke lead going into the final round, you expect to win," said IHCC coach Mike Hagen. "We're a young team, and unfortunately we're playing young. We just need to get back at it and continue to get better."

John A. Logan fired a second-round 282 to overtake Indian Hills after the Warriors had posted a 290 total for the first round. Indian Hills was only four shots higher with their Monday score, but they couldn't hold off John A. Logan.

Sophomore Monty Lack lost a playoff with JAL's Bryce Doughty for medalist honors. Lack followed an opening-round one-under par 70 with an even-par 71 for a 141 total.

Teammate Jon Paul Blampied had back-to-back rounds of 72 to finish in 3rd place.

Indian Hills had four others in the top 10. William White and Ben Ludlam tied for 5th and Kieran Goodall and Mitch Tucker tied for 8th.

The Warriors will return to action in the Beu/Mussato Invitational in Macomb, Ill. April 2-3.
