Overland Park, KS -- The Indian Hills golf team had one final chance to show what they could do during the fall campaign and the Warriors didn't waste the opportunity. Warriors 4th Midway Through National Preview

Huntsville, Ala. -- The Indian Hills golf team is tied for 4th place after day one of the NJCAA Division I National Championship Preview. The field played just 18 holes on Monday instead of the 36 holes that were scheduled because of soggy conditions and slow play.

Indian Hills is just three shots behind the co-leaders, Brevard (FL) and McLennan (TX), after the Warriors shot an opening-round 292. Sophomore Justin Weber led IHCC with a three-under par 69, good for second place in the individual medalist chase. Teammate Zach Monson carded an even-par round of 72 and is in 10th place. McClennan's Juan Salcedo shot a four-under 68 to lead the pack after the first day.

IHCC will go into Tuesday's final round looking to improve on last year's seventh-place finish at the fall preview. And Warriors coach Mike Hagen is looking for good things for the final 18 holes. "We hung right in there with everybody (Monday)," Hagen said. "It's supposed to be pretty nice (Tuesday). We'll see how low we can go."
