Former Warrior Wins Waterloo Open

Ottumwa -- Former Indian Hills Community College golfer Justin Weber picked up a win this past weekend in the Amateur Division of the Waterloo Open. Weber, who graduated from Indian Hills in May, overcame a two-stroke deficit on the final day to win by two strokes with an 8-under-par total of 208.

Weber had rounds of 70, 68 and 70 over the Irv Warren Golf Course. On the final day of the tourney, he played his first 11 holes at even-par and then had three birdies over the next four holes to pull ahead in the event that had a field of 288 golfers.

Weber had two first-place finishes for Indian Hills in his sophomore year, taking medalist honors in a dual meet and winning the Community 1st Credit Union Spring Invitational.

The Bernard native will attend Drake University and play golf for the Bulldogs in the fall.
